What to know
- The gun quick swap firing exploit has been patched, restoring intended weapon fire rates.
- Exploit mitigation has been added for all locked rooms across every map.
- The Spaceport Control Tower’s locked room can no longer be accessed from the outside.
- Visual glitches, player push bugs, and Raider Voice settings issues have been addressed.
In Patch 1.4.0, you download a relatively small but impactful update that primarily targets abuse of the gun quick swap exploit and locked-room key runs across Arc Raiders’ maps. Once your client restarts and the patch installs, weapon fire rates now obey their intended cadence, removing the unfair advantage of rapidly swapping to quick-use items and back to shoot faster. This change should tighten balance for both cooperative runs and competitive encounters where even slight DPS advantages mattered.
You also see new exploit mitigation systems applied to every locked room on all maps, reducing ways to bypass keys or intended routes. In particular, exterior access into the Spaceport Control Tower’s locked room is now blocked, so you must rely on the designed entrances and key mechanics rather than clever geometry exploits. These measures aim to protect loot pacing and keep high-value areas from being trivialized by out-of-bounds paths.
1.4.0 Patch notes

Beyond exploits, the patch resolves a handful of bugs that affected visual quality and player interactions. Occasional low-resolution textures in the Main Menu should no longer appear, and lighting artifacts that sometimes popped up when you loaded into maps have been fixed, which helps the game look more stable and consistent. A previous issue where players could push each other by jumping on one another’s backs has also been corrected, limiting unintended movement tricks during matches.
Finally, the update improves how your audio preferences behave between sessions. Raider Voice now correctly respects the voice option you selected after you restart the game, so you no longer need to reconfigure that setting each time you log in. Overall, Patch 1.4.0 aims to stabilize core systems, clamp down on the most disruptive exploits, and ensure your experience aligns more closely with the game’s intended design.
