Like Google Sheets and Google Slides, the Google Docs app too is receiving some Material design goodness today as Google is set at updating its apps as Material design loaded Android 5.0 release nears with the Nexus 9 on 3rd November. With today’s update, the Google Docs app now stands at v1.3.422.14.35.

The Material design update to the Google Docs app isn’t much, except for the new setup screen and Material designed status bar and header. Also, include the new hamburger icon in the list of changes. That’s all we could spot so far on the visible side of things, but we’re still digging for any new features in the app. However, the small jump in version number only indicates minor changes and some bug fixer update.
