Here we are into another day with another AOSP based Marshmallow ROM for yet another Android device. This is how things roll when a new release of Android is pushed to AOSP (Android Open Source Project).

Sony released its Android 6.0 Marshmallow binaries to its own AOSP project for various Xperia devices. The binaries help developers make AOSP based ROMs for Xperia devices without much trouble.

The latest Sony device to get an AOSP Marshmallow ROM is the Xperia Z3, before it the Xperia Z1 and Z ultra received the Android 6.0 ROMs.

Since this is the first release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow ROM for Z3, it isn’t much functional as you’d expect, and definitely not worth putting on your Z3 yet.

Below’s the list of bugs known so far on the ROM:

– SIM not working so no mobile data, calls or sms
– Auto rotation
– Minor Graphic glitches
– Some force closes in apps
– Sound
– Camera
– Anything else I forgot

You can grab the Xperia Z3 Marshmallow ROM from this XDA post, there are also instructions to flash it (via fastboot). But know that the ROM is very buggy at this time, and is good for nothing. So we don’t recommend you installing it on your Xperia Z3 yet.
