Google may have dropped official support for Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Nexus 4, but that doesn’t mean the hottest Android phone of 2012 isn’t capable of running the freshest release of Android from 2015.

Developer +Aldrin Holmes has announced that he already has Android 6.0 Marshmallow booting on his Nexus 4 with EVERYTHING working. He’s only waiting for the compatible Marshmallow Gapps to arrive before making the ROM public.

The Marshmallow ROM Aldrin developed is based on AOSP 6.0.0r1 (release candidate 1). And if you’ve been wondering about root access, well, it has been done too.

We’ll update this post with download link to the ROM once it’s available. Or you may just follow Aldrin on his Google+ account to keep up with the development status.
