When OnePlus officially announced that OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X were not getting the Nougat update, the fans were left disappointed. Many wondered would OnePlus follow the same footsteps for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T.
Apparently not. Although it’s a bad news at least OnePlus has decided not to keep the users in dark. OnePlus has officially confirmed that Android O or Android 8 would be the last major OS update for last year’s variant of OnePlus i.e. OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T.
Currently, OnePlus is sending Beta updates to OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, but once the devices are updated to Android O, OnePlus will move the Open Beta Program from OP3/3T to OnePlus 5.

Although OnePlus won’t release any major OS update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T after Android O, the company has said it will continue to release security patch updates for the foreseeable future.
OnePlus 5 is the successor of OnePlus 3T and features Snapdragon 835 processor, dual camera, and 3,300mAh battery. It comes in two variants of 6GB RAM/64GB memory and 8GB RAM/128GB memory.
