Samsung Galaxy A3, 2016 edition, is receiving the Marshmallow update in Korea starting today. When the global rollout will begin is not clear, but it shouldn’t take more than a month now that one region on earth has secured the 6.0 update. The exact model no. of the A3 that is being blessed with Marshmallow is SM–A310N0, with build no. being A310N0KOU1BPFA.
The Marshmallow update brings lots of cool features, chief among them being the Doze mode (extends battery life), advanced app permissions (allow and disallow specific or all permissions for the app as and when you wish) and Now on Tap (an extension of Google Now that, when called into action by holding the Home button, reads info available on current screen and shows you suggestions based on that using Google’s search power).
We’re sure other models like SM-A310F, SM-A310M, SM-A310Y, etc. will receive the Marshmallow treatment soon, but until then, we can only wait. This bring first release of Marshmallow for Galaxy A3, other models could take some time, while the complete rollout for all models could be expected to finish only after at least two months from today — yes, by that time, the Nexus device will be rocking Nougat!
As regards original Galaxy A3, the 2015 edition, well, the 6.0 update should drop soon for you guys too now that it’s out for the newer version of your device.
Keep an eye on our firmware page to download the firmware as and when it becomes available.
