Xiaomi’s Mi MIX 2S was among the few non-Google devices that managed to enter this year’s Android P developer preview program. The device has been testing Pie for months now and it looks like Xiaomi is hot on OnePlus’ heels.

The company opened invitations for Mi MIX 2S users to try MIUI 10 based on Android Pie earlier this month and apparently, folks at XDA Developers have bumped into the latest updates that upgrade the software version to MIUI 10 8.8.29 for the Chinese variant and MIUI 10 8.8.28 for the global ROM. Besides Pie, what also makes these updates interesting is that they come with September 2018 security patches.

Keep in mind that this is beta software, but it’s still good enough to be used as a daily driver, although you might encounter a few bugs here and there. You can also download and install it manually on your MIX 2S via the links below.

As you can see, both the global and Chinese variants of the phone have been taken care of. Also, note that these are Recovery ROMs, so there isn’t so much hassle involved in installing the files. And yes, it also means only those currently on beta software can install this one, at least for now.
