Although a week late, Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is finally receiving an update to Android 9 Pie update. Sony had announced that an update would arrive on November 7th, but there was a delay that even affected the software’s rollout to the Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact that had been slated for October 26th.

The update is arriving as software version 52.0.A.3.84 and is rolling out over the air, which means it will take some time before all units get the OTA download. Besides installing a new OS, you also get the latest Android security patch and plenty of other bug fixes and performance improvements.
