Samsung’s Oreo rollout for the Galaxy S7 handsets in going on in full swing, with the latest devices to see an upgrade to Android 8.0 being those sets at Verizon and AT&T, and those also in Canada. While the wait for T-Mobile and Sprint S7 users continue, there is also a whole bunch of Galaxy S7 active users awaiting news on their own Android Oreo build.

Luckily for you guys, the Oreo update build for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, also known by its codename SM-G891A, has hit a certain Wi-Fi certification agency. This basically means that the Oreo build is nearly ready at Samsung, and has even gone through successful internal testing, which is why the update was sent for certification.

The test unit of the Galaxy S7 Active cleared for Android 8.0 OS version, so that is what we should be expecting when Samsung seeds out the OTA.

Past experience has told us that we can expect an update to start hitting users as an OTA after a while once it clears Wi-Fi Alliance testing. Going by that, we can expect the Oreo update rollout for the AT&T Galaxy S7 Active sometime in July, probably towards the end of it.

Clearly, Samsung isn’t the quickest one to update its recent flagships to Oreo, but hey, it’s certainly not the worst (Hello Vivo!) even though it’s damn not as earlier as it should be (ahem, Nokia). The wait continues for now, but meanwhile, let’s check out the best phones from Samsung on offer in 2018.
