Of the four major U.S. carriers, T-Mobile has been the worst with Android Oreo software updates. The likes of AT&T and Verizon started rolling out the Galaxy S7 Oreo update about three weeks ago and were later joined by Sprint in mid-June, but it’s only now that T-Mobile users of the duo are reporting to have begun receiving Oreo.

Despite the longer than usual wait, T-Mobile users can finally download and install Android Oreo on their Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets via an OTA update. The software comes with software version G930TUVU4CRF1 for the S7 and G935TUVU4CRF1 for the S7 Edge.

Being a major OS upgrade, the update is quite heavy, weighing in at a little over 1.7GB, so make sure you have a stable Wi-Fi connection before you begin downloading the file.

Since it’s an OTA update, it may take a few days or maybe weeks before every user of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge on T-Mobile gets the download notification. You can either wait or try a forceful update via the Settings > About phone menu, where you can check for updates and if available, download and install manually.
