You may not have received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update yet on your device, but Google looks already set on releasing a new version of Lollipop, Android 5.1. The new version was first spotted on Android One devices releasing in Indonesia, and now a 2ng Gen. Moto G was spotted running Android 5.1 version of Lollipop.

Changelog details for Android 5.1, however, are not yet known. But looking at the way this new version of Android is slipping out silently, it seems the update doesn’t hold significant changes. We guess it’ll be a few bug fixes, performance improvements and minor enhancements.

Google hasn’t yet officially spoken on Android 5.1 yet, even though the update has already appeared on official Android site for Indonesia Android One devices.

Also, interestingly, Android 5.1 is only appearing on budget devices at this time. It’s releasing for super budget devices Android One first. Plus, we’re also seeing it running on a 2nd Gen. Moto G, which again is a budget phone. This could mean that Android 5.1 is specifically better for budget devices with low-spec hardware, and it might help improve performance of Lollipop on these devices. What do you say?
