The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update has already been pushed out to the Samsung Galaxy S3 in Poland and a few other European countries back in September, and now Sammobile reports that the Korean Galaxy S3 models, at least the LTE variants, will be getting the Jelly Bean update on October 9th.
The models slated to get the update on October 9th are the SHV-E210S, SHV-E210K, SHV-210L, while the 3G-only variant for SKTelecom will receive the update later on (an date wasn’t mentioned).
According to a few leaked images from Kies, the update will bring the following official changes:
- Platform upgrade Android 4.0 ICS -> Android 4.1 JB
- Improved performance when moves home screen to application, application to home screen
- Improved usability for some application
- Add preload application
- Add Help application
- New & Improved function
- Add Easy mode, Interception mode
- Improved Camera ability : add Pause function when you record video and ect
- Add Smart Rotation
- Upgrade Pop up Play : Can control its size and add pause function
- Improved usability for some application & function
Samsung is moving fast and swift in bringing the latest and greatest version of Android to the Galaxy S3, so kudos to them for doing so. With the HTC One X and One S also set to receive the Jelly Bean update this month, October is looking to be a fine month for owners of these top Android devices.
