It’s the time and era of the Jelly Bean in the Android world, with custom ROMs based on Jelly Bean coming out for many devices left, right and center every day, while people wait for manufacturers to at least announce which devices would be getting the official update. The HTC One S got an unofficial port of CyanogenMod 10 (CM10) a few days ago, and now another Jelly Bean ROM has shown up for the device.

Built from Jelly Bean sources and released by XDA Senior Member BiteBlaze, the ROM is a fully stock Android 4.1 build with no added customization and features for a pure Android experience. Unfortunately, just like the CM10 ROM, it isn’t in a very usable state yet, with a lot of important things such as Wi-Fi, calls, camera, etc. not working on it at this time, so it’s purely a preview of Jelly Bean rather than a daily usable ROM at this point.

Check out the ROM in action in this video:

The development is at an early stage, so things should get better and more stable as the days pass by, so it’s only a matter of time before a properly working ROM is out (even though some issues may remain till HTC releases an official Jelly Bean update). For those who want to try it out right now, the official development page on XDA has all the details along with the download links for the ROM. Do keep in mind that the ROM is only for One S’ that have the 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor and won’t work on the 1.7 GHz Snapdragon S3 variant that is on sale in some countries in Asia and Europe.
