Redmist Beetles are found hovering in the air as a cluster of glowing red insects. On the ground below, you’ll always see red mushroom patches, which act as a visual marker. Interacting with the mushrooms does nothing — the collectible is entirely airborne.

How to use Redmist Beetles

Redmist Beetles are turned in at Oddity Exchange NPCs in Qinghe, such as Qi Sheng. These NPCs track your oddity collection progress rather than consuming items one by one.

How to Use the Redmist Beetles in Where Winds Meet
Redmist Beetles are exploration oddities you collect in Qinghe and turn in for permanent progression rewards rather than using directly. Here is a complete guide to use Redmist Beetles in Where Winds Meet.

How to obtain Redmist Beetles

Here is how you can collect Redmist Beetles in Where Winds Meet:

Step 1: Locate red mushroom clusters

While exploring Qinghe, watch for patches of red glowing mushrooms. These are static world markers and reliably indicate a beetle spawn point.

Step 2: Look upward for the flying swarm

Once you spot the mushrooms, tilt the camera upward. The Redmist Beetles hover directly above, usually just out of normal jump height.

Step 3: Reach the beetle swarm

Position yourself beneath the swarm and use one of the following:

  • Jumping from nearby rocks or ledges
  • Terrain elevation changes
  • Acrobatics, extra jumps, or mobility skills

You must physically pass through the red beetle cluster in midair.

Step 4: Confirm automatic pickup

There’s no interaction prompt. The moment your character passes through the swarm, the Redmist Beetle is automatically collected and added to your oddities progress.

Common mistakes when collecting Redmist Beetles

  • Interacting with mushrooms instead of looking up
  • Assuming the beetles are bugged when they’re just above jump height
  • Leaving the area before trying nearby elevation points
  • Forgetting to return to an Oddity Exchange NPC

If you see mushrooms but no beetles, adjust your camera angle—they’re almost always directly overhead.

Redmist Beetles are simple to collect once you understand how they work, but easy to miss if you don’t know what to look for. Follow the red mushrooms, look to the sky, and use the terrain to your advantage. Collecting all 29 beetles is a major step toward full Qinghe exploration and long-term progression in Where Winds Meet.
