Acer unveiled its latest Predator Helios Neo gaming laptops today, featuring Intel's new Core Ultra processors and NVIDIA's RTX 5070 Ti GPUs. The Predator Helios Neo 16 AI and Predator Helios Neo 18 AI are designed to deliver high-end gaming performance with AI capabilities baked in.
At the heart of these new machines is Intel's Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, promising responsive gameplay and reduced latency. Paired with NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU, the laptops leverage DLSS 4 technology to boost frame rates and improve image quality. Ray tracing gets a boost too, with 4th gen RT Cores and 5th gen Tensor cores accelerating those cinematic visuals.
Display tech takes center stage in the new lineup. The Helios Neo 16 AI sports an OLED WQXGA (2560x1600) panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response time. Its larger sibling, the Helios Neo 18 AI, opts for a Mini LED WQXGA display pushing 250 Hz. Both support NVIDIA G-SYNC and Advanced Optimus for smooth, tear-free gaming.
Acer hasn't skimped on the internals either. These laptops can be configured with up to 64 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage. Connectivity is handled by Intel Killer Ethernet E3100G and Wi-Fi 6E. To keep things cool under pressure, Acer employs its 5th Gen AeroBlade technology, liquid metal thermal grease, and a Vector Heat Pipe.
On the software side, Acer's bundling in its PredatorSense 5.0 utility, complete with an AI Experience Zone. There's also AI-enhanced audio with Acer PurifiedVoice 2.0 and an AI-powered webcam solution. While pricing wasn't announced, Acer's positioning these as more accessible options in its gaming lineup, likely targeting a mid-range price point for the specs on offer.
