Acer’s latest addition to the Chrome OS lineup is the Chromebase All-in-One. The Chromebase brings a touchscreen interface to the device for the first time.
The Acer Chromebase is given a 21.5 inch Full HD 1080p display with 178 degree viewing angle and 10 point touch technology. It makes use of a quad core NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor. The All-in-One desktop is based on Chrome OS and it has an HDMI out port and USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. The other aspects of the Chromebase include inbuilt HD webcam for superior quality video chats. There are Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity aspects as well.
The Chromebase is touted to boot in 10 seconds and come packed with layers of inbuilt security with automatic system updates. The highlight is that this OS supports multiple user accounts letting users to synchronize their photos, videos, documents and music. Also, the contents can be backed up with their respective Google accounts. Moreover, there is 100 GB free Google Drive storage as well.
As of now, the pricing of the Chromebase is not announced and it will vary based on the region. The device will be made available in the North American and Asia Pacific markets in the second quarter.
