In Where Winds Meet, the Abyss of Desire quest takes you into the bustling tavern at Heaven’s Pier, where you’ll meet Mu Bai — a moody NPC who won’t open up about Jianghu secrets until you keep him talking with stronger and stronger jars of Parting Tears wine.

Location

To begin this quest, head to the marked spot in Brewery Backyard, Heaven’s Pier, Qinghe, and interact with Mu Bai, who’s sitting on the floor.

Walkthrough

Follow the steps below to complete the Abyss of Desire quest:

Step 1

Head to the marked location in Heaven’s Pier and speak with Mu Bai, who will ask for 2 Parting Tears and 1 Premium Parting Tears.

Step 2

If you don’t already have Parting Tears, you can pick them up nearby — the first one is sitting on a stool next to an NPC at the marked location.

Step 3

For the Premium Parting Tears, head to Yuan Tiantian’s shop near the Waterwheels and pick up the Parting Tears Reserve from the table in front of her.

Step 4

For the Large Jar of Parting Tears, head to the marked location and pick up the jar kept under the shed.

Step 5

After collecting all 3 Parting Tears, return to Mu Bai and submit each jar as he shares a bit of information and asks for another, repeating this three times.

Step 6

After submitting the final wine, the quest will end and you’ll receive your rewards.
