A Dog’s Ambition is a touching and story-rich Encounter quest in Where Winds Meet, centered around a barking crisis in Masterwood Hamlet. You’ll investigate the cause, interact with villagers and a mysterious Spirit Beast Master, and ultimately help a distressed dog named Buster recover his lost courage through teamwork and compassion.

Start at Masterwood Hamlet at the You hour of the day. Entering the area from the boundary stone automatically triggers the quest to track.

Walkthrough

Here is how you can complete a Dog's Ambition encounter quest in Where Winds Meet:

Step 1: Meet Xiaojie

Follow the quest marker to meet at Masterwood Hamlet in the central area. Ask him about the dog barking issue.

Step 2: Switch to Hai hour

To see the dogs barking, from the time menu, change your time to the Hai Hour. But there are no dogs around.

Step 3: Talk to the Vet

Old Cai, the Vet, is scared inside his hut. Ask him about the dog barking issue.

Step 4: Find Old Yang

Old Yang is sitting next to wooden logs. interact with him to understand the dog situation.

Step 5: Pray at the Dog Shrine

Make your way to the next quest marker, the Dog Shrine. You need Prime Meat Cut and Sugar Figurine as offerings to pray at this shrine.

Step 6: Follow the dog

After praying, a dog appears out of nowhere. Follow him cautiously to reach the quest area.

Step 7: Meet Spirit Beast Master

You will meet a little masked boy near the riverside, who claims to be the Spirit Beast Master. He asks for 10 Wen as payment to help Old Yang.

Step 8: Introduce the Immortal Master to Yang and Cai

Both Cai and Yang are present here. Introduce Spirit Beast Master, AKA Immortal Master, to them. Make sure you walk with the Immortal Master and dont leave his trail along your way to the Old Yang. In case you lose him, you might have to go and find him again.

Step 9: Mediate talks with Cai, Master, and Buster

Complete the dialogue with Cai, Yang, Immortal Master, and understand why Buster is behaving the way he is, with Cai.

Step 10: Help Buster

To help Buster regain his confidence, pluck fur from three dogs: Jet, Silk, and Haihai. You will have to use Celestial Seize to get fur from Silk.

Step 11: Submit Fur

Give all 3 fur to Spirit Beast Master.

This makes Buster very happy, and he rushes out of the house.

Step 12: Complete the quest

Follow Old Yang and Immortal Master to the front of village where Luna faints during a fight. Yang helps her revive. After a short cutscene, quest concludes.
