Discover how to get the Shadows chest piece and gloves in Crimson Desert by exploring Hernand’s frozen Everfrost region and clearing both hidden locations in a single efficient run.
Both the chest piece and the gloves of the Shadows set sit in Hernand’s frozen Everfrost area — light the brazier at the small cave near the Everfrost Watchtower to drop the spikes and grab the chest, then head to Everfrost Cave west of the Scholasta Institute for the gloves, and you can clear both in a single run.
This is Path 1 of our Shadows armor set coverage, focused on the chest piece and the gloves. Both pieces sit in the frozen Everfrost and Argent Peaks region of Hernand, and because they are in the same general area, you can knock them out in one trip. Neither location has a quest marker, so you will be tracking the two caves yourself.
What the Shadows armor set is and where these pieces fit
| Piece | Region / location | How to obtain | Covered here? |

| Plate Armor of the Shadows (chest) | Argent Peaks — small cave near Everfrost Watchtower | Light the brazier to lower the entrance spikes, then loot the chest inside | Yes |
| Plate Gloves of the Shadows | Everfrost Cave, far west of the Scholasta Institute | Enter the cave and loot the chest (mind the icy floor and boundary warning) | Yes |
| Plate Cloak of the Shadows | Hoenmark Ruins | Use Force Palm on a loose roof tile to drop into a hidden room | No — Path 2 |
| Plate Boots of the Shadows | Frostclaw Cave waterfall, north of the Scholasta Institute | Hold shield and stab through the waterfall to reach the chest | No — Path 2 |
| Plate Helm of the Shadows | Hoenmark Ruins (boss arena) | Defeat Beloth, the Darksworn | No — Path 2 |
The Shadows set is a dark, layered plate outfit with a tattered cloak, medallion details, red accents, and a crown-like helm — it looks like a dark court wizard who also moonlights as an assassin. Four of its five pieces are hidden across Hernand’s world, while the helm is locked behind a late-game boss fight. This guide handles the chest piece and the gloves; the cloak, boots, and helm are covered in Path 2.

Getting the chest piece near the Everfrost Watchtower

The chest piece is the simpler of the two grabs. You are looking for a small cave on the rocky cliffs just north of the Everfrost Watchtower in the Argent Peaks. The entrance is blocked by spike bars, and the only way past them is the brazier sitting just outside. Light it, and the spikes drop — that is the entire puzzle. Walk in and loot the chest for the Plate Armor of the Shadows. There is no combat gate here, so you can do this as soon as you reach the region.
Getting the gloves inside Everfrost Cave
The gloves are deeper in the same frozen zone. From the Scholasta Institute (some guides spell it Scholasta), head far west to find Everfrost Cave. The entrance is unmarked, so keep your eyes on the cliff and river edges. Inside, the floor is icy, so expect slippery movement as you push toward the chest.
Do both caves in one Everfrost run — the chest piece and gloves are in the same frozen zone with no fast-travel markers, so clear them back-to-back to avoid a second trip through the cold.
Tips and common mistakes for this run

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have to beat Beloth (the Chapter 6 boss) to get the chest piece and gloves?
No. You can bypass the Beloth fight entirely and collect the chest piece, gloves, cloak, and boots through world exploration. The boss is only required for the Plate Helm of the Shadows.
What region or zone are these two pieces in?
Both are in the frozen Everfrost and Argent Peaks region of northern Hernand. The chest piece is in a small cave near the Everfrost Watchtower, and the gloves are in Everfrost Cave, far west of the Scholasta Institute.
Is there really a time limit or kill timer in the gloves cave?
Some players report an active kill timer near the gloves chest because it sits close to the map boundary, but the danger is not consistently confirmed. Treat it as a caution: loot quickly and do not linger at the edge.
Which pieces are left after Path 1, and where do they come from?
The cloak, boots, and helm remain. The cloak is at Hoenmark Ruins (use Force Palm on a loose roof tile), the boots are at the Frostclaw Cave waterfall (stab through while holding your shield), and the helm drops from Beloth, the Darksworn at Hoenmark Ruins.
What does the full Shadows set do once completed?
Early reports list the completed set as providing 34 Defense, 34 Attack, Level 7 Fire Resistance, +10% XP gain, +4% climb speed, +2% stamina regen, +2% swim speed, and immunity to Petrification and Daze. The helm grants Glacial Domain, letting you briefly freeze water and walk on it. These numbers come from a single early source and may shift with patches, so treat them as unconfirmed until verified in your version.
