Follow The Adventures of Elliot Part 3 walkthrough as Elliot defeats the Great Bow Guard, unlocks the Doorway of Time, clears Hother’s side quests, and reaches Little Hope.
Part 3 picks up at the end of the Mist Ruins: you beat the Great Bow Guard, claim the ancient tome and key that uncover the Doorway of Time, clear the kingdom of Hother‘s two side quests, then chase Minister Kaifried through the doorway into a different age and arrive at the rundown village of Little Hope.
Part 3 is one continuous stretch of the story rather than a loose set of objectives, so it helps to read it as a sequence of events. You finish the dungeon you entered last time, the loot you pull out of it cracks open the game’s big time-travel hook, and that reveal pushes the rest of the episode forward. Along the way there’s a calm stretch back in town to mop up side quests before the chase begins. Note that several character and place names come from in-game text that spells them inconsistently, so treat exact spellings as best guesses rather than settled fact.

Where Part 3 of The Adventures of Elliot picks up

You start at the deepest point of the Mist Ruins, the dungeon from the previous part, with one fight left between you and the exit. Clearing it isn’t just a boss kill, though. The chest waiting at the bottom hands you a story item that reframes the whole adventure, and by the end of the episode you’re no longer in the present-day kingdom at all.
The short version of where Part 3 takes you: beat the dungeon’s final guardian, carry its treasure back to the castle, run the kingdom’s two remaining side quests for some gear, and then follow Kaifried through the Doorway of Time into a new age that ends at the village of Little Hope. Everything below walks that path in order.
Beating the Great Bow Guard at the end of the Mist Ruins
The last room of the Mist Ruins is guarded by the Great Bow Guard, and the name is literal — this boss carries a bow, so it pokes at you from range instead of just swinging. There’s an early stretch where it holds back, and then it flips: once it tells you the “real fight begins,” it gets noticeably more aggressive, and that’s the phase where careless hits start adding up.
From there it’s about patience and spacing. Keep your guard up against the volleys, step in to land hits — including criticals — during the gaps, and back off the moment you feel pressured. If anything ever surrounds you, a clean retreat is smarter than swinging your way out.
The ancient tome, the key, and the Doorway of Time

Behind the boss sits a treasure chest, and it holds two key items: an ancient tome and an ancient key. With every door in the dungeon already opened, the key clearly belongs to something else, so Elliot takes both back to the castle for Eugene, the kingdom’s scholar, to study. Warp out through the dungeon’s interior warp points (you can’t jump straight to the world map from inside) and head up to the throne room.
Eugene can only read part of the old language, but what he makes out is the hook for the entire game. The text describes a door that lets you pass through time, a road spanning centuries from which heroes once set out — and from which none ever returned. To protect history, the ancients sealed this Doorway of Time with lock and key, which is exactly what Elliot just recovered.
The king is rattled enough to forbid anyone from entering the ruins until Eugene finishes deciphering the tome. Minister Kaifried, on the other hand, lights up at the mention of that power and starts pushing to test the door immediately. That tension — a cautious king against a minister convinced he could “rewrite history” — is the seed that pays off at the end of the episode.
Clearing the kingdom of Hother’s two side quests
| Side quest | Quest giver | Objective | Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spear of the past | Eugene | Gather his research materials — three flame stones, cracked from the desert fire enemies | Sapling spear (Eugene’s old spear) |
| A good old bow | Lyca | Defeat the beastmen lurking just outside town | Shortbow |
With the dungeon done, the game opens the kingdom back up and tells you to explore the castle and town and talk to anyone with an icon above their head — the locator points them out. A handy detail: characters you’ve already spoken to get a check mark, so anyone without one still has new dialogue. Because the story has moved on, it’s worth circling back through earlier areas, since rescued NPCs now have fresh lines and a few hand out rewards or tolls.
There are only two actual side quests right now, and the menu confirms it after you finish both. Eugene asks for materials for his research; chase the quest marker and it points you to the desert, where you crack the fire enemies for flame stones. Hand those over and he gives you his old spear, logged as the sapling spear. Over in town, Lyca is restringing a childhood bow that young Nick is too small to use yet; in exchange for thinning out the beastmen outside town (ten of them), she finishes the repair and you walk away with the shortbow.
Weapons, magisite, and healing before you cross over
Picking up those two rewards turns combat into a real toolkit, so this is a good moment to learn the systems the episode surfaces. You swap weapons with ZR: the spear reaches enemies slightly ahead of you and rewards lining foes up before you skewer them, but it leaves your flanks exposed, while the bow hits from range, fires a whole barrage for the price of one shot, and draws from a limited arrow stock you have to watch.
The magisite system is your customization layer. You form new magisites from fragments, then slot them to equip effects — things like raising damage per hit, boosting damage against low-health enemies, or shield repair and guard counters. Slot capacity is limited and can be expanded for a growing cost, so you choose which handful of perks to run rather than stacking everything at once.
Before stepping through the Doorway of Time, buy as much recovery medicine as you can — Huria’s healing magic can’t reach the new age, so the cooldown heal stops working entirely and medicine is your only way back to full.
Kaifried opens the doorway and the chase begins

While you’re wrapping up in town, the story cuts to Kaifried at the doorway ruins. He no longer cares about the king’s permission — he forces the ancient key, the door stirs to life, and a magical portal to another age opens in front of him. Calling the king a coward who fears power, he steps through, set on rewriting history “as it should have been.”
The king summons Elliot and lays it out: Kaifried struck a soldier who tried to stop him and crossed the Doorway of Time, and if he interferes with a major historical event, reality itself could change beyond recognition. Elliot is tasked with stopping him, and although Huria worries it’s too dangerous, the king asks — as a father, not a king — that she be allowed to keep traveling with you. You set out for the doorway ruins together.
Arriving in a new age and reaching Little Hope
On the far side you come out in a cave, and the first thing you notice is that Huria’s voice barely reaches you — her healing definitely won’t. Outside, the land looks like the area around the castle but clearly isn’t the age you know: it’s a fresh map that mirrors present-day Hother, dotted with tougher enemies that carry more health than the slimes you’re used to. You’ll also find a red Adventuring Guidepost here, a welcome save point in unfamiliar territory.
Following the only settlement in sight leads you to a worn-down village called Little Hope, where the locals describe a place with nothing worth mentioning and beasts circling outside. That’s where Part 3 stops — with Elliot and Huria poking around Little Hope for any clue to where Kaifried went and what he intends to change.
