What to know
- iOS 27 now lets you control alarm, ringtones, and system sounds separately.
- There are now separate volume controls options for Ringtones, Alarms and Timers, and Alerts and System Sounds in the Sounds & Haptics setting.
iOS 27 seems to be the OS upgrade that finally adds basic missing features to the iPhone. Apart from letting you paste screenshots and copied text quickly from the keyboard, it also adds separate volume controls for alarms, ringtones, and system sounds.

Now when you go to the Sounds & Haptics settings, you will see separate options for Ringtone, Alarms and Timers, and Alerts and System Sounds.
This slight tweak is a big plus as Apple looks to plug in the holes in its UI, holes that sometimes seemed too large to ignore. Fortunately, with these QoL upgrades out of the way, Apple can look to further boost its UI with advanced upgrades. Stay tuned for more such iOS 27-related updates!
