What to know

  • Paralives currently features five known death types in Early Access.
  • Death can occur from old age, fire, starvation, fatigue, and poisonous mushrooms.
  • Elder Paras have a visible countdown showing when old age death will occur.
  • Certain mushrooms, including Destroying Angel and Black Ammonita, can cause immediate death.

Paralives gives players significant freedom to shape the lives of their Paras, but that freedom also comes with risks. While the game is still in Early Access and additional death types may be introduced in future updates, there are currently five confirmed ways a Para can die. Understanding these mechanics can help you either keep your household safe or create dramatic stories for your characters.

Death due to old age

Old age is the most natural way for a Para to pass away. Once a character reaches the elder life stage, the game begins tracking the remainder of their lifespan.

One particularly useful feature is the countdown displayed for elder Paras. This lets you know exactly how much time remains before the character reaches the end of their life. Unlike accidental deaths, this provides plenty of opportunity to prepare family members, complete unfinished goals, or simply enjoy the final days of a beloved Para.

Death due to old age is inevitable and cannot be prevented.

Death due to fire

Fire-related deaths can happen when a Para catches on fire and fails to put themselves out in time. Flames can quickly spread to nearby furniture and objects, creating a dangerous situation throughout the home.

Because fire can rapidly escalate, immediate action is often required. If the burning Para cannot extinguish the flames, the fire may become fatal.

How to prevent

A fire starts and ignites a Para. The Para attempts to extinguish the flames. If the fire is not controlled quickly enough, the Para dies from the blaze. To prevent this, learn how to extinguish fires. If fire cannot be contained, rush away from it by jogging or travelling to your house immediately. Leave the fire area to avoid any type of damage from it.

Death due to starvation

Managing needs is a major part of Paralives gameplay. Starvation occurs when a Para’s hunger meter reaches zero and remains neglected.

Before death occurs, Paras display visual indicators of extreme hunger. One common sign is rubbing their stomach while suffering from the effects of starvation.

How to prevent

The hunger need gradually decreases. The meter reaches zero. Ignoring hunger for too long results in death by starvation. To avoid it, simply eat on time, have snacks on hand and take care of the hunger meter.

Death due to fatigue

Unlike some life simulation games where exhausted characters simply collapse and sleep, Paralives currently treats complete energy depletion as a fatal condition.

This means players should pay close attention to energy levels, especially when Paras are working, socializing, or staying awake for extended periods.

How to prevent

The energy meter continuously declines. The Para becomes severely exhausted. If energy reaches zero, the Para dies from fatigue. Maintain your energy levels by eating, using bus to travel, and resting properly.

Death due to mushrooms

Exploration in Paralives allows Paras to discover and collect mushrooms. Most mushrooms are harmless and can be consumed safely, but there are dangerous exceptions.

The two currently known deadly varieties are the Destroying Angel mushroom and the Black Ammonita mushroom. Consuming either of these results in immediate death, making them among the most dangerous items currently found in the game.

How to prevent

Explore the world and collect mushrooms. Identify the mushroom before consumption. Avoid eating Destroying Angel or Black Ammonita mushrooms.

Eating either poisonous variety causes instant death.

Current state of death mechanics in Paralives

As of the current Early Access version, these five death types represent all confirmed ways Paras can die. Since Paralives is actively being developed, future updates may introduce additional hazards, illnesses, accidents, or supernatural causes of death.

For now, keeping an eye on your Paras’ needs, protecting them from fires, and avoiding dangerous mushrooms will greatly improve their chances of living long and successful lives.

Paralives currently includes Old Age, Fire, Starvation, Fatigue, and Poisonous Mushroom deaths. While old age is unavoidable, the other four causes can be prevented through careful management of your Paras’ needs and surroundings. Understanding these systems helps you create safer households while preparing for the unexpected stories that make life simulation games so memorable.
