What to know

  • Renegade Roundup unlocks after defeating Armand, Maxi, Willis, Dugin, and Evra.
  • All five are optional boss encounters tied to different areas and side activities.
  • Dugin must be defeated twice, and the boss can appear in either of two possible locations.
  • Evra is located in the Graveyard area, which is accessed through the Courtyard in Ossex.

Mina the Hollower features several hidden encounters outside the main story path, and the Renegade Roundup trophy is tied directly to these optional renegade bosses. Some are easy to stumble across during normal progression, while others require specific side quests, purchases, or exploration routes before they become available. Since the trophy only unlocks after every required renegade has been defeated, knowing where each one appears can save a significant amount of backtracking.

Quick overview of all Renegade Roundup bosses in Mina the Hollower

How Armand becomes available beneath the Ossex weapon shop

Armand is one of the earliest renegade bosses many players encounter. The fight is tied directly to the weapon merchant in Ossex. As you continue buying equipment, the encounter eventually unlocks after purchasing two weapons from the shop.

Once the second weapon purchase is made, access to the basement area opens and Armand can be challenged there. Despite being optional, the fight can be surprisingly dangerous because of the confined arena and aggressive attack patterns.

Maxi attacks during your return to Ossex

Maxi is encountered naturally if you continue progressing through the game after clearing Queensbury Crypt. Rather than being hidden behind a puzzle or quest chain, this boss ambushes Mina during the journey back toward Ossex.

The encounter begins automatically once the required story progression has been completed. Because of this, Maxi is usually one of the easiest entries on the Renegade Roundup checklist.

Willis fight after the frog quest

Wonder Willis requires considerably more effort than some of the other renegades. The fight is connected to the frog-related side content that starts near the tower at the end of Nox’s Bayou.

After taking the frog through the required NPC interactions in Backwaters, the questline eventually leads to Ossex. The final confrontation occurs inside the tavern, where Wonder Willis becomes available as a boss battle.

Many players miss this encounter entirely because it is linked to optional quest progression rather than normal story advancement.

Dugin can appear in two different locations

Dugin is arguably the trickiest renegade boss associated with the trophy because the encounter is not fixed to a single area.

The boss can appear on the final screen of the Western Wilds before reaching Backwaters, or within the Southern Outskirts. Even more importantly, Dugin must be defeated twice for Renegade Roundup progress. The boss may spawn in the same location both times or appear in different locations between encounters.

If the trophy has not unlocked despite defeating the other bosses, Dugin is usually the reason. Many players defeat the boss once and assume the requirement is complete.

Finding Evra in the Graveyard

Evra is located within the Graveyard area connected to Ossex. To reach the boss, head through the Courtyard section of Ossex and continue into the Graveyard region.

Unlike Willis or Armand, there are no major side quest requirements attached to this encounter. The primary challenge is simply locating the Graveyard entrance and exploring far enough to find the boss arena.

Because the Graveyard is optional content, many players overlook Evra during their initial playthrough and only discover the area later while cleaning up trophies.

Why the trophy may not unlock immediately

The most common issue with Renegade Roundup is missing one of the optional requirements rather than experiencing a bug. Willis is often skipped because the frog quest was never completed, while Dugin frequently causes confusion due to the requirement of defeating the boss twice.

Before assuming the trophy is glitched, double-check that all five renegade bosses have been defeated and that Dugin has been encountered a second time. Once Armand, Maxi, Willis, Dugin, and Evra have all been cleared, the trophy should unlock automatically.

Renegade Roundup serves as one of the better exploration-focused trophies in Mina the Hollower because it encourages you to engage with side quests, hidden regions, optional merchants, and secret boss encounters. While Maxi and Armand are relatively straightforward, Willis, Dugin, and Evra require a bit more exploration. As long as you remember to defeat Dugin twice and visit the Graveyard for Evra, unlocking the trophy becomes much more manageable.
