The Mr Mnemonic challenge appears during the A New Home mission in your Malta apartment and requires quick memorization skills to identify specific card symbols.
How to Unlock the Mr Mnemonic Challenge
Step 1: Complete the Initial Apartment Setup
After the mission begins, place your bag in your designated apartment room. This triggers the next phase where Monroe becomes available for interaction.
Step 2: Trigger Monroe’s Interaction Sequence
When Monroe is watching TV, go to the room at the back.
Examine Monroe’s shoes.
This will trigger Bond to comment “I thought you were joking when you said you had more than 20 pairs of trainers”.
Then move forward and inspect the computer.
Step 3: Accept the Memory Card challenge
Monroe must be sitting near the TV before the memory game can begin.
Monroe will ask “Bond, you want to try the game?” and hand you a card. Inspect the ‘Mnemonic Game’ card on the table which starts the 10-second memorization timer immediately.
Step 4: Memorize the Bottom Corner Symbols
Flip the card. The card displays multiple symbols across its surface.
Focus exclusively on the two bottom corners during the countdown. The symbols you need are umbrella (bottom-left) and crown (bottom-right).
Step 5: Select the Correct Answer
When Monroe asks “Tell me what the symbols were in the bottom corners,” choose the “Umbrella and Crown” dialogue option by pressing Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox).
If you select the wrong combination, the challenge fails and you’ll need to replay the mission section.
Critical Mistakes to Avoid

Don’t rush through apartment interactions: The challenge won’t trigger until you’ve examined enough objects and Monroe is positioned correctly near the TV.

Completing Mr Mnemonic counts toward the Completionist challenge for the A New Home mission. Finishing all 10 standard challenges (excluding Completionist itself) in A New Home unlocks the exclusive Malta Training Outfit for Bond.
