Open the map and set a marker on Wyvern’s Cradle.
Then pick the closest fast travel node south of Delesyia and near Serpent Shrine to minimize travel.
From that fast travel point, ride or climb to the marked basin.
Until you see a large pond below; this is the Platypus spawn pool where multiple small animals and fish are active in the water.
Step 3: Force wildlife spawns until the Platypus appears
Once at the pond, scan the water and shoreline for small brownish shapes that could be Platypuses; they are easy to confuse with fish due to their low profile.
If none are visible, run a full loop away from the pool and back again—about one or two short sprints’ distance—so the game can despawn and respawn small wildlife like salamanders, frogs, weasels, and eventually Platypuses in the area.
Step 4: Grab the Platypus
Watch for a Platypus to climb or hop out of the water onto the shore, where it is much easier to interact with. You cannot reliably grab it while it is still swimming, so wait for that land animation, then rush up and use the interact/grab prompt to pick it up.
Once it is in your character’s hand, it is “locked” for the taming sequence and cannot escape unless you drop it.
Step 5: Feed live fish for trust
With the Platypus in your hands, open your inventory directly and scroll to your live fish stack. Select a fish such as Bass or Rice Fish and choose the Feed option.
