Entering the full code completes the probe interaction and advances the scene.
Finding the probe’s serial number in Episode 7 is a quick environmental puzzle in Directive 8020. This guide shows exactly where each digit is hidden, how the game presents the clues, and the fastest way to combine them so you can enter the correct four-digit code and keep the mission moving.
Probe Serial Number details
Where to look for each digit

Approach the probe and inspect the input terminal on its top to see what digits are already visible on that panel. Walk completely around to the probe’s far side to find a separate small display that reveals the first digit. Then check the floor and the rocks a short distance from the probe for a small fragment or screen that gives the remaining middle digit you cannot see from the input side. Together those three sources yield the full sequence.
How to use the clues step-by-step
Step 1
Stand at the probe and open the top code input panel to note the digits that are visible there; this will give you the last two duigits of the serial – 40.

Step 2
Walk around to the opposite side of the probe and read the small screen or label there to obtain the first digit of the serial – 2.

Step 3
Search the immediate ground and nearby rocks a few paces from the probe to find the final missing digit shown on a hidden fragment – 5.

Step 4
Return to the input terminal on top of the probe and type the four-digit code assembled from the three sources. Submitting the correct number completes the objective and triggers the next scene.

The assembled four-digit serial number is 2540. Entering 2540 at the probe’s input panel completes the repair and advances the mission.

A quick tip: Check the opposite side and the nearby floor fragments first before trying multiple inputs, since the environment provides every digit you need.
