In Crimson Desert, Crafting books like Cloth Armors of the World Vol. III expand your gear options significantly, offering defensive cloth pieces ideal for agile builds in Pywel’s harsh landscapes. This volume focuses on mid-to-high tier cloth sets from various factions, emphasizing mobility and lighter protection compared to leather or plate alternatives.

Key locations involved

Hernand Castle stands as a central fortress in the Hernand region, accessible after progressing through early story quests or exploration unlocks; the Lord’s meeting room sits on the third floor, secured by a locked door needing an Ordinary Key purchasable from back-alley shops, with guards patrolling nearby hallways that demand stealth via a equipped mask to avoid detection during the theft from the bookshelf behind the central table.
How to get the crafting book

Approach Hernand Castle during low-guard periods like nighttime for better stealth chances, ensuring you have the Ordinary Key and Thief Mask in your inventory beforehand.

Step 1: Prepare your gear
Acquire an Ordinary Key from a back-alley vendor in Hernand town, typically costing minimal silver, and equip a Thief Mask bought from similar shady merchants to suppress the cry meter when stealing.

Step 2: Navigate to the castle entrance
Head to Hernand Castle’s main gate in the heart of Hernand. It’s just behind the well.

Slip past outer patrols.

Turn right.

Then ascend the stairs to the third floor via the main stairwell.

Step 3: Unlock the Lord’s meeting room
Locate the locked door to the Lord’s meeting room on the third floor landing.

Use the Ordinary Key to quietly open it without alerting guards, entering swiftly and closing the door behind you.

Step 4: Steal the book stealthily
Move to the bookshelf directly behind the large central table in the room.

Equip your mask.

Interact with the Cloth Armors of the World Vol. III book on the shelf, grabbing it while monitoring the cry meter—wait in hiding spots like under the table if it rises.

Step 5: Escape and examine
Exit the room once the cry meter depletes.

Avoid patrols on your descent.

Return to a safe area, open your inventory, select the book, and choose “Examine” to read both pages, permanently unlocking the recipes.

Unlocked recipes overview
This book adds seven premium cloth armor and cloak blueprints, each requiring specific cloth materials, threads, and dyes gathered from tailoring vendors or world drops.
How to craft the armors
Visit any smithy after unlocking the recipes, selecting the equipment tab to access the new cloth options; gather materials through skinning beasts for hides (processed into cloth), buying threads from tailors, and farming dyes from regional herbs or merchants.
Step 1: Gather base materials
Hunt animals across Hernand fields for hides, process them at a tanner into cloth tiers (fine, superior, etc.), and purchase threads and dyes from Hernand Tailor or back-alley shops.
Step 2: Access the smithy menu
Interact with a blacksmith anvil, navigate to Equipment Crafting under the cloth category, and select the desired recipe from the newly unlocked Vol. III list.

Step 3: Confirm and craft
Check material requirements, confirm the craft if all items are present, and wait for the animation; higher-tier recipes may need skill points in tailoring for efficiency.

Step 4: Refine the gear
Immediately refine new armors at the grindstone using ores and abyssal artifacts for +1 to +10 upgrades, prioritizing evasion stats on cloth sets.
Rewards from this crafting book
Obtaining and using this book yields permanent access to versatile cloth gear boosting evasion, stamina regen, and faction-specific bonuses like Delesyian agility or Lauques durability.
Pair Vol. III cloth sets with evasion skills and lightweight weapons for rogue-style play, refining to +10 for endgame viability against bosses in Pywel’s abyssal zones.
