What to know

  • City Hunter level is the main progression gate in the early and midgame, and it is required to continue the story at several points.
  • Raising it also increases your character level cap through appraisal level progression, letting your characters go from level 30 to level 40.
  • The fastest sources of Hunter EXP are main story quests, side quests, exploration guide tasks, daily tasks, stamina spending, City Tycoon progress, and unlocking phone booths.
  • A practical approach is to keep clearing story content, complete all side quests you find, spend stamina consistently, and pick up easy map EXP from phone booths while you move around.

Neverness to Everness uses Hunter level as a core progression system, so leveling it efficiently matters if you want to keep advancing through the story and unlocking stronger characters. The strongest gains come from doing the content that naturally overlaps with normal progression, then filling the gaps with daily and map-based EXP sources.

Progression source What it gives Notes
Main story quests Highest Hunter EXP Best single source, but story progression is also gated by Hunter level.
Side quests Hunter EXP, fons, analith Blue exclamation marks on the map; worth clearing whenever found.
Exploration guide Hunter EXP, fons, upgrade materials Also helps unlock other systems and retroactive rewards.
Dailies 1,500 Hunter EXP per day Fast to finish and becomes very important after quests are cleared.
Character pixels 200 Hunter EXP per 40 spent Best used on EXP or useful upgrade farming.
Anomaly hunts Ascension materials Useful when preparing for higher level caps.
City Tycoon progress Large Hunter EXP chunks Also unlocks more systems and raises city stamina cap.
Phone booths 50 Hunter EXP each Easy one-time map EXP while traveling.

Main story progress

Main story quests are the biggest source of Hunter EXP, so they should stay at the center of your leveling plan. The catch is that the story itself is often what gets blocked by Hunter level requirements, including walls around the level 18, 20, and 24 quests.

Even though the main story is the best EXP source, you cannot rely on it alone when you hit a wall. When that happens, move to side quests, exploration guide tasks, dailies, and stamina spending until you reach the next story checkpoint.

Side quests on the map

Side quests are marked with blue exclamation points and are one of the best support sources of Hunter EXP. They also provide fons, which makes them valuable for both progression and summoning.

The approach is simple: do every side quest you see. That keeps your EXP flowing while also building the resources you will need later in the game.

Exploration guide rewards

The exploration guide is a strong leveling tool because it awards Hunter EXP while also teaching you the game’s systems. It also gives fons and upgrade materials, which means it helps progression in several ways at once.

Some exploration guide rewards are retroactive, so if you already met a requirement before unlocking that page, you can claim the reward immediately. It is also useful because some City Tycoon objectives require you to progress through it.

Daily tasks and stamina

Daily tasks give 1,500 Hunter EXP per day, which makes them one of the most reliable sources once your quest backlog starts running thin. They are also quick to finish, taking only about five to ten minutes once you know what to do.

The daily tasks include logging in, sending gifts, using your ultimate three times, spending fons, and claiming fons at the cafe. Alongside that, you should spend your character pixels every day because they convert into Hunter EXP and keep your progression moving.

How to spend stamina

Character pixels are the game’s stamina system, and spending 40 of them gives 200 Hunter EXP. The recommended farming targets are character EXP and ability upgrade materials, since those support the teams you are actually building.

Arc ascension and console stages are acceptable, but focus more on the better loot stages later rather than spending too much time on weaker material farming. If you are trying to prepare for ascension, anomaly hunts are also useful because they drop the materials needed for higher level caps.

City Tycoon leveling

City Tycoon progress gives a big chunk of Hunter EXP and should be treated as another major leveling route. It also unlocks heists, raises the city stamina cap, and pushes you toward useful Tycoon rewards.

That progress also ties into character rewards, including Chiz at several milestone levels and additional copies or weapon rewards every few levels after that. Because of that, City Tycoon leveling is as important not just for EXP, but for long-term account strength.

Phone booths across the map

Unlocking phone booths is one of the easiest extra ways to gain Hunter EXP. Each phone booth you unlock gives 50 EXP, and you should grab them whenever you pass by one instead of ignoring them.

This method is especially efficient because it costs very little time. If you are already heading toward another objective, it is worth detouring for a minute to unlock the booth before continuing.

When to slow down

The suggested pacing changes a little after you reach Hunter level 20. At that point, you unlock the second appraisal level, which raises your character cap further and makes progression feel less urgent.

After that threshold, the focus shifts more toward steady growth than racing to the next wall. The next major threshold is level 30, but most players will not reach it quickly without heavy stamina refreshes or paid spending.

Using refreshes wisely

Refreshing stamina with analith is presented as an emergency option, not a default strategy. It can help if you are just short of a story unlock and do not want to wait for the daily reset.

For most players, though, it is better to save those resources rather than spend them early. The recommendation is to use refreshes only when you are very close to a key progression point and need a small boost right away.

Efficient leveling route

Step 1

Keep the main story moving whenever your Hunter level allows it, because it gives the most EXP overall.

Step 2

Clear every side quest you come across, especially the ones marked by blue exclamation points, since they add EXP and extra resources.

Step 3

Work through the exploration guide regularly so you collect its EXP, fons, and upgrade rewards while unlocking more systems.

Step 4

Complete your dailies every day and spend your character pixels so you never miss the guaranteed EXP income.

Step 5

Use your stamina on character EXP or ability upgrade materials, then switch to anomaly hunts when you need ascension materials.

Step 6

Keep progressing City Tycoon whenever possible, because it gives large Hunter EXP gains and unlocks useful account upgrades.

Step 7

Unlock phone booths as you travel, since they provide easy one-time EXP with almost no extra effort.

Hunter level goals

The most useful early goal is Hunter level 20, because it unlocks the second appraisal level and makes your account noticeably stronger. That is the point where the leveling pressure becomes more manageable and you can slow down a bit.

After that, you should still keep building toward level 30, but the game expects a longer grind there. At that stage, dailies, stamina use, and account-wide progression become the backbone of leveling.
