Claude Users Get Double Usage During Off-Peak Hours in Limited Promotion as a Thank You Token from Anthropic

What to know

  • Claude usage limits are doubled outside peak hours for two weeks.
  • The promotion runs from March 13 to March 27, 2026.
  • It applies to Free, Pro, Max, and Team plan users automatically.
  • Peak-hour limits remain unchanged to manage platform load.

Anthropic has announced a temporary usage boost for its AI chatbot Claude, offering double the normal usage limits during off-peak hours for the next two weeks. The move was shared through Claude’s official social media channels as a “small thank you” to users who rely on the platform regularly.

The promotion started March 13 and will remain active until March 27, 2026. During this period, users who interact with Claude outside peak hours will be able to send twice as many prompts within the standard usage window.

For most users, the experience requires no setup or opt-in. The expanded quota automatically applies to all major Claude plans, including Free, Pro, Max, and Team subscriptions.

The increased allowance only applies outside the platform’s busiest window. Peak hours—roughly between 8 AM and 2 PM Eastern Time (5–11 AM Pacific Time)—retain the normal limits, meaning users working during those hours will not see a change. Below is an approximate breakdown of Claude’s peak hours across major global time zones, based on the platform’s primary peak window of 8 AM – 2 PM Eastern Time (ET).

Region / Time ZonePeak Hours (Local Time)
US Eastern Time (ET)8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
US Pacific Time (PT)5:00 AM – 11:00 AM
UK (GMT)12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Central Europe (CET)1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
India (IST)5:30 PM – 11:30 PM
Singapore / China (SGT / CST)8:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Australia East (AEDT)11:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Anthropic appears to be using the promotion to spread demand more evenly across its infrastructure. Off-peak boosts encourage users to schedule heavy workloads—such as coding tasks, research summaries, or batch content generation—during quieter periods when servers are under less strain.

The announcement also comes amid rapid growth in Claude’s user base, which has increased sharply in recent months as the AI assistant competes with tools like ChatGPT and Gemini. Higher usage allowances during off-peak times may help improve response speeds and reduce queue times for users working at those hours.

For developers, researchers, and power users, the temporary increase effectively extends the amount of work that can be completed within the platform’s rolling usage windows. Teams using Claude for coding assistance, document analysis, or automated workflows may find it easier to complete larger tasks without hitting limits.

Anthropic has not announced whether the promotion will become permanent, but similar temporary usage boosts have been used previously to reward users or test infrastructure capacity during periods of rapid adoption.
