In Arknights: Endfield, the objective “Connect the Fluid Pump to the pond” is part of the Exploration Mission “Treasure Beneath the Pond” in Wuling City (Chapter 2 – Process 2).
You’re essentially building a simple liquid-transfer line – pull water out of the flooded hole, send it to a downstream body of water, and keep the whole system powered long enough for the ruins to drain.
Location
For this objective, you’ll be working around the submerged hole (the flooded ruins) and the river to the southeast: the Fluid Pump goes right on the very edge of the submerged hole, while the Fluid Supply Unit goes near the edge of the southeast river so it has somewhere to send the drained water.
How to Connect the Fluid Pump to the pond
Step 1: Place the Fluid Pump at the correct edge
Open your Facility List (or your Backpack) and select the Fluid Pump.

Position the pump on the ground near the edge of the pond.

Ensure the Pump Inlet (the intake pipe) is submerged in the water. The placement preview will change from orange to white when the intake is correctly positioned in the fluid.

Step 2: Connect the Power
To function, the Fluid Pump requires a power connection. Place a Xiranite Pylon nearby to provide electricity to the pump.

Step 3: Connect Fluid Pump with pipes
Next, you need to transport the water away. Use the Pipe tool from your facility list.

You’ll need to create a pipeline connecting the Fluid Pump’s outlet to the Fluid Supply Unit’s inlet.

Bring it all the way to the nearby river. Go straight.

And then to the right.

Leave it near the edge.

Step 4: Set Up the Fluid Supply Unit
Select Fluid Supply Unit from facility list.

Place it nearby to act as a destination or temporary storage.

Then connect the pipe to the Fluid Supply Unit.

Place a Xiranite Pylon nearby to provide electricity to the Fluid Supply Unit.

Step 5: Activate the Pump
Interact with the Fluid Pump once it is powered and connected.

The amount of water in the pond will begin to decrease.

Common issues that stop progress
-
Pump not close enough to the submerged hole edge, which prevents proper drainage behavior.
-
Supply Unit placed somewhere other than the southeast river edge, so your “destination” isn’t set up as intended.
-
Units aren’t powered because the Xiranite Relays aren’t placed near them or aren’t connected back to a powered relay.
-
Expecting an instant result; the guide notes drainage may take a few minutes even when everything is correct.

Once your pump line is correctly placed, connected, and powered, your only real job is to give it time to finish draining—then you can treat the ruins like a normal exploration space again. If you build with the “source → pipe → destination + power” mindset, similar fluid objectives later on will feel much more straightforward.
