What to know

  • Adamantite is the highest tier of tools, weapons, and armor currently craftable in Adventure/Exploration mode in this progression.
  • To craft Adamantite gear, you must upgrade the Workbench, Armorer’s Workbench, and Blacksmith’s Anvil all the way to Tier 3.
  • Adamantite ore is found on large volcanic islands (Cinder Wastes biome), not in the starting area or early desert/snow biomes.
  • A full Adamantite set (tools, weapons, armor) needs a bit over 120 Adamantite bars, plus Heavy Leather and Cindercloth Scraps.

Getting Adamantite gear in Hytale can feel overwhelming because it sits at the very top of the Adventure/Exploration crafting progression and requires materials from multiple dangerous biomes. This guide breaks the entire process into a clear, efficient path, showing you exactly where to go, what to farm, and which stations to upgrade, so you can reach Tier 3 and craft a full Adamantite gear as quickly and safely as possible.

How to get Adamantite gear fast in Hytale

Follow these steps to quickly and efficiently obtain Adamantite gear in Hytale:

Step 1: Start with basic gear and materials

Begin with your starter tools and daggers, use the daggers’ charge + forward jump to move quickly and hunt animals for Light Hide. Collect key early resources:

  • Light Hide – from chickens, rats, deer, cows
  • Linen Scraps – from Trolls, Skeletons, Goblins
  • Bone Fragments – from Skeletons
  • Rubble – for crafting arrows

Near spawn, enter the Forgotten Temple basement, defeat the Golem, and travel through the Gateway to the main hub. Interact with the Heart of Orbis to unlock the Memories feature, gaining exploration rewards.

Once you have 15–20 Light Hide and Linen Scraps: craft a Tanning Rack to turn Hide into Leather, and a Campfire to cook meat for healing. While only an Iron Pickaxe is needed to start Tier 2 work, it’s recommended to craft at least a full set of Copper or Iron armor and an Iron Crossbow with 200+ arrows to safely tackle tougher enemies.

Step 2: Upgrade to Tier 2 crafting stations

To unlock Tier 3 upgrades later, start by upgrading these three stations to Tier 2:

Materials needed:

As you move south toward the Desert, gather additional materials:

  • x20 Medium Leather (from Wolves and similar beasts)
  • x100 Azure Logs (from the blue-tinted forest en route to the Desert)

Farm Wolves and Trolls for Medium Hide and collect Azure Logs, keeping your main goal in mind: reaching the Desert to mine Thorium ore, which is essential for Tier 3 upgrades.

Step 3: Farm Thorium and other Tier 3 materials

Thorium is required to progress into Tier 3. Mine Thorium ore in Desert biomes such as the Howling Badlands, Desolate Basin, and Desert.

  • Look for green surface ore, it usually means more is nearby in caves.
  • You need 80 Thorium Bars to upgrade all three crafting stations (more if you want Thorium gear).

While exploring caves, watch for Scarak Hives:

  • Drop Sturdy Chitin (around 40 needed for upgrades).
  • Drop Venom Sacs (15 required to upgrade the Anvil to Tier 2).
  • Use a ranged weapon like the Iron Crossbow to safely kill flying Scarak.

Once these materials are collected, return to base, upgrade your stations, and prepare to move north for the next progression materials.

Step 4: Get Tier 3 upgrade materials

To fully upgrade to Tier 3, collect the following:

From Snow Biomes (Boreal Reach, Everfrost):

  • Mine Cobalt ore from blue surface nodes and caves.
  • Kill Icy enemies for Essence of Ice (especially icy Skeletons).
  • Hunt Polar Bears for extra Heavy Hide/Leather.
  • Clear Doomed Outlander camps to farm Shadoweave Scraps (90 needed).

From Volcanic Islands (Cinder Wastes):

  • Mine Adamantite ore and smelt it into bars.
  • Enemies drop Cindercloth Scraps and Essence of Fire.

At Night (Any Biome):

  • Defeat Void Spawn (glowing green eyes) to obtain Essence of the Void and a chance to drop Voidhearts.

Step 5: Go to the volcanic islands and get Adamantite ore

Adamantite is found only on large volcanic islands in the Cinder Wastes biome, not near your starting area, and not in desert or snow regions.

Look for islands with:

  • Dull green or mud-colored terrain (avoid mostly grey/black islands).
  • Red Adamantite ore visible on the surface and inside caves.

On these islands:

  • Mine Adamantite ore and smelt it into Adamantite Bars.
  • You’ll need 120+ Adamantite Bars to craft a full set (armor, tools, bow, and a two-handed weapon).
  • Enemies drop Cindercloth Scraps and Essence of Fire, both required for Adamantite crafting.
  • Watch out for strong enemies like Scythe-wielders, demonic dogs, and skeleton alchemists with explosive attacks.

While farming, collect and store:

  • Adamantite Bars
  • Heavy Leather
  • Cindercloth Scraps

Step 6: Upgrade stations to Tier 3 and craft Adamantite gear

Once all materials are collected:

  • Return to your base and upgrade the Workbench, Armorer’s Workbench, and Blacksmith’s Anvil to Tier 3 using Thorium, Cobalt, Chitin, Leather, Scraps, and Void materials.
  • Smelt any remaining Adamantite ore into Adamantite Bars.
  • Gather any extra Heavy Leather and Cindercloth Scraps needed for recipes.

You can now craft:

  • Adamantite Pickaxe
  • Adamantite Hatchet
  • Adamantite Bow
  • Adamantite two-handed weapon
  • Full Adamantite armor set
  • Each Adamantite item requires:
  • Adamantite Bars
  • Heavy Leather
  • Cindercloth Scraps

With a full Adamantite set, you’ll be powerful enough to handle most Adventure and Exploration content and can begin progressing toward higher-tier crafting and magic stations.

Tips for fast and efficient Adamantite farming

  • Follow tiered progression: Upgrade your crafting stations to Tier 3 before heading to the volcanic islands.
  • Plan your route: Move from Desert (Thorium) → Boreal Reach/Everfrost (Cobalt, Shadoweave, Heavy Leather) → Volcanic Islands (Adamantite, Cindercloth).
  • Farm safely: Use an Iron Crossbow with plenty of arrows to collect Venom Sacs, Essence, and Cindercloth from dangerous enemies.
  • Travel quickly: Use the daggers’ charge + jump dash to move fast and hunt animals for Leather.
  • Manage inventory wisely: Store extra materials at home and carry only what you need for the next zone.

Fastest path to Adamantite equipment

To quickly obtain Adamantite equipment, upgrade your three main crafting stations to Tier 3, follow the biome progression from Desert → Snowy → Volcanic Islands (Cinder Wastes), gather Adamantite ore and enemy drops like Heavy Leather and Cindercloth Scraps, and craft your full Adamantite set once all materials are in your base.
