OnePlus is set to unveil its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 13, on October 31 in China, and the company has been steadily revealing new features ahead of the launch.
The new ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is an upgrade from the optical sensor found in the OnePlus 12. This new kind of fingerprint sensor shall allow you to unlock devices quicker. OnePlus says it will do so even with wet or greasy fingers and will perform better in low-light conditions too while offering added security.
The OnePlus 13 will also feature a new “4D” vibration system designed to enhance the haptic feedback experience. The device features a 602mm vibration motor – the largest ever implemented in an Android device – capable of delivering 72 different types of haptic feedback for a better gaming experience.
OnePlus has equipped the OnePlus 13 with both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. We it will come in two variants, thus the dual ratings but we would like confirm this upon device’s launch. This dual certification ensures the device is completely dustproof and can withstand both water immersion at 1-meter depth (IP68) and high-pressure, high-temperature water sprays (IP69).
The device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and features a substantial 6,000 mAh battery supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The phone will also include magnetic wireless charging capabilities, though this may require a special case.
The global release of the OnePlus 13 is expected to follow the Chinese launch, potentially extending into early 2025, bringing these innovative features to international markets.
